Minimal and deeply spirited noir jazz with an electronic twist! One way to describe the extraordinary and original sound of Aleksi Myllykoski on his new album Dark Days.

The new album is published Signature Dark, a novel label Aleksi Myllykoski founded for cinematic, dark and melancholic music.

For a listener, the charm and beauty of Aleksi Myllykoski’s music can be found in experiencing the moods he went through but by interpreting them from your own perspective as there are no vocals. Musically you could describe Dark Days as a doom/dark/noir jazz-spirited drone/ambient album with influences ranging all the way from trip hop and dub techno to jungle and experimental electronica.

Minimal, melancholic and deep for sure, with a focus on moods and rhythm. But after you have finished the album you will surely spot the connections to universal life cycle in its full diversity from depression and death to the beauty of rebirth and personal growth. The current state and challenges in our world, environment and society are inherently present as well.

Besides the outro track of the album, all songs on Dark Days feature the famous Finnish musician Tapani Rinne. He is best known for his experimental and innovative style with the clarinet and saxophone for the legendary RinneRadio as well as for Wimme.

On Dark Days, Tapani Rinne adds impressive warmth, depth and a hint of positive light to the electronic wistful soundscapes Aleksi Myllykoski has created. They have been working together for more than a decade, and you can easily hear how smoothly and balanced everything mixes in their exclusive minimal richness!
